Brief Synopsis:
This inspirational ten-part series follows expert hosts Melissa Porter, Charlie Luxton and Russell Harris in their search for Britain’s Best Home. Each host spends 24 hours exploring the Nation’s most fabulous properties, meeting the extraordinarily dedicated owners and highlighting features that place these spectacular homes in a league of their own. After the nationwide search one property will be declared ‘Britain’s Best Home’ in the stunning series finale.
Key Points:
PLEASE CONSULT THE FORMAT HEAD IN YOUR TERRITORY FIRST. Formats launched the show at MIPCOM 2008 although released it for tape sale at MIPTV 2009. Has been pitched to USA and Germany.
A series featuring unusual or luxury homes in a bid to decide which is Britain's Best Home.
Each of the presenters feature a different home each episode where one 'wins' by the end.
This is more 'Grand Designs' territory i.e. it is aspirational rather than about property itself (rennovation, increasing the value etc).
Will appeal more to the broadcasters who took Grand Designs rather than Property Ladder.
Please note that there is a competition element to the series which has been removed on screen where possible. UK viewers were encouraged to phone in and vote for their favourite home.
Feature on the castle that finally won the series:
