Truth is often stranger than fiction, especially when presented by cult film director John Waters (Hairspray, Serial Mom, Cry-Baby). As presenter and narrator, “The Groom Reaper”, he brings his macabre sensibility and wry comedy to a series of dramatised stories which reveal the real life cases of ill-fated relationships, what they did, why they did it and how they covered it up. Recalling great anthology series like Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone, each episode of this dark edgy and unique series has a happy ending, John Waters style, with the guilty spouse getting caught in a way they never expected.

John Waters is an internationally known cult director who made films such as PINK FLAMINGOS, HAIRSPRAY and SERIAL MOM. The 2007 theatrical version of Hairspray has achieved over $100million at the box office and received great critical acclaim and has raised John Waters profile internationally. His film Cry Baby will launch as a musical on Broadway later this year.
This is his first starring role as an actor and Court TV's first scripted series.
Each episode has high production values and is a darkly comic drama which tells the story of love gone wrong in an engaging way.
It resembles Desperate Housewives in tone - a drama that has moments of dark humour that gets underneath the facade of American suburban life.
Another murder/mystery anthology that was successful was the ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS... which also featured another cult director 'hosting' a series of murderous stories.
This is a post-watershed series due to the brief moments of violence (although not too graphic).
